Outpatient Adult Services


Mid-Plains Center is proud to offer various types of therapy. We utilize a wide array of evidenced-based mental health models. The Outpatient Adult Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Dual Diagnosis programs at Mid-Plains Center provide therapy services for emotional, behavioral and substance abuse problems. We work with individuals, couples, and families.

There are Several Categories of Therapy Services Offered:

  • Mental Health refers to the psychological well-being and satisfactory adjustment to society and to the ordinary demands of life.
  • Substance Abuse refers to long-term, pathological use of alcohol or drugs, characterized by daily intoxication, inability to reduce consumption, and impairment in social or occupational functioning; broadly, alcohol or drug addiction.
  • Dual Diagnosis refers to a condition in which a person or family suffers from the combined effects of substance abuse AND emotional problems or mental distress.

What to expect at the first therapy appointment:
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the appointment time and check in with the front desk staff. These staff will assist with the completion of an online questionnaire. Completion of this questionnaire is required prior to seeing a therapist. The results will help the therapist in identifying symptom categories that will be addressed in the treatment plan.During the first therapy session, the therapist will document information including family history, symptoms, life experiences and substance use. This session will last between 1 to 2 hours.
